Goodbye Pownce, you will be missed! RIP.
December 01 2008
I don't drink coffee, I don't smoke, but I like to have my daily dose of Pownce. Although I didn't post lately, I checked my account nearly everyday, and I think it's a real shame they sold their soul to the devil. I'll back up my data, but I for sure think the Pownce community is gone for good. New jobs...good for you...just not sure I really need to know you've moved on already!
Pownce deadpooled on TC!! Did I just read this right? Sounds like Pownce was just some kind of side project for people looking for a better job. Seriously, this is very unfortunate and I just can't believe it. It feels like we've been played. Oh well, it's not like Pownce ever seemed to care about its users anyway...so much patience and efforts thinking it was worth it, makes me want to cry. Merry Christmas too...

James Nachtwey unveiled his story to the world today. His wish is that together we spread the word about a new form of resistant tuberculosis that's extremely deadly! The pictures are shocking, hard to look at. I have worked and travelled in South East Asia, but didn't know TB was causing so many deaths there!

Share a vital story with the world
Yesterday, I watched War Photographer, a documentary about the work of James Nachtwey, with no doubt the best war photographer of all times.
Last year, Nachtwey won the prestigious TED prize (http://www.tedprize.org/nachtwey/). He was given 100 000$, but most of all, he was granted a wish to change the world. His wish was as follows: "I'm working on a story that the world needs to know about. I wish for you to help me break it in a way that provides spectacular proof of the power of news photography in the digital age."
Nachtwey will unveil his story on the 3rd October. We can help him spread it and show the power of the digital medium to break stories that traditional medias wouldn't even dare to cover.
If you are unknown to his work, please watch the documentary War Photographer, it's brilliant. You can also watch his TED talk on http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/james_nachtwey_s_searing_pictures_of_war.html .

I am listening to Supertramp in my bed this morning. My dad was a huge fan of Supertramp, so we used to listen to them all the time in the car. I love how much it sounds familiar still now.
Same story with Dire Straits, The Beatles and Pink Floyd ^^

Mum and her cousin on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I had a family dinner yesterday and met with people I didn't see for almost 12 years! Among them is Guigui, my mum's cousin, having Downs Syndrome. He is now 44 years old (my mum is 46) and he has changed a lot, although he is still the same nice chap I used to know. I was scared of him when I was a kid, so I am glad I saw him again as a grown-up. I took a picture with him and he gave me the biggest fat hug ever (a shame my mum couldn't fire the shutter on time).californication on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
The strike is over, Grey's Anatomy starts in 3 days, Californication in 6...summer is officially ended ^^My pick of the day on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
When I was like 6 or 7, I ate grey mushrooms (p'tits gris in French). They made me so sick, I've never been able to eat mushrooms since then and just the smell of it in a pan put me off.Picking them in the forest is a totally different story. I have always enjoyed it and I'm always up for a forest walk. My eyes are sharp and well trained and I can't help but stare at the floor when I walk. There's so much satisfaction in finding mushrooms, showing your pick to people and discuss about the best places to find particular ones. When I bring them back to the house, I can see the faces light up, even more since they know I don't give a shit about eating them ^^

GOOD Magazine is doing a great series of illustrations and videos on transparency. I think the US presidential primaries were lacking some typo, thanks for the GOOD job!

Einstein the Parrot talks and squawks | Video on TED.com
I visited the TED website, but never took time to use it. It's very inspiring and the website is very engaging. I'm spending quite some time watching TED talks with iTunes now. I think that's the kind of stuffs I would love to have on my iPod Touch while commuting.September 11 2008
Awesome, the new video from the guys behind the Diet Coke/Mentos experiment! This time they're experimenting with sticky notes and it's very well realised...
